Patricia A. Strombos

Beloved mother, grandmother, in law and friend;


Patricia A. "Pat" (Foley) Strombos, 93, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday April 7, 2023, at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell surrounded by her loving family.

She was the devoted wife of the late John T. Strombos who died February 12, 2004.

Born November 10, 1929, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Thomas G. and the late Ethel M. (Nelson) Foley, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1947. She went on to graduate from Bradford Secretarial School.

Prior to her retirement, Pat was an Executive Secretary with the Raytheon Corporation where she worked for over 30 years at the Lowell and Bedford offices.

An avid Red Sox fan, Pat also loved to play golf and was a member of two golf leagues, one in Billerica and the other in Tewksbury, The Flying Eagles. She also enjoyed bowling with family and friends.

Pat is survived by two daughters M. Linda Vigeant and her husband Raymond of Dracut and Eileen Weiss and her husband William of Tewksbury; two grandsons Ryan Weiss and his wife Kate and Brandon Weiss; a sister-in-law Marjorie Foley of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Richard Foley.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staffs at both The Residence at Freeman Lake in Chelmsford and The D’Youville Senior Center for the loving care they provided to Pat.

William P. O’Connell

Beloved brother, uncle, and grand-uncle;


William P. "Bill" O’Connell, 68, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.

Bill was born in Lawrence, MA, on September 30, 1954 and was the son of the late John and Louise (Campling) O’Connell. He attended St. Laurence O’Toole School and graduated in the Class of 1973 from Central Catholic High School. He went on to attend Lowell Technological Institute, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting in 1977.

Bill worked for State Street Bank for over 30 years in the Accounting, IT, and Quality Assurance Services. Over the years, he received many promotions, ending his career as a Vice President in 2015, when he retired.

Outside of work, Bill had many interests, including travel, history, growing plants, and landscaping.  He traveled extensively with cruising being his favorite vacation and Hawaii his favorite destination. He also loved to cook gourmet meals and enjoyed fine dining, so he was always game to get together for a good meal. Bill loved to spend time with family and friends doing simple things, as long as they were together.

Bill is survived by three siblings: Richard J. O’Connell and his wife Mary Rose of Billerica, MA, Mary Lou Bergeron of Methuen, MA, Elizabeth A. Deabay and her husband Gary of Haverhill, MA; four nephews: Ryan O’Connell and his wife Kaileen, Christopher O’Connell, Kyle Deabay, and Sean Deabay; and by two grand-nephews and one grand-niece. Bill was predeceased by his nephew, Michael O’Connell.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m.. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH,  144 E. MERRIMACK ST. in LOWELL at 10 a.m. o'clock. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. The family requests that flowers not be sent, preferring that donations be made in Bill’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Judith A. (McCluskey) Flood

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend;

Judith A. “Judy” (McCluskey) Flood, 77, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the devoted wife of the late James W. “Jimmy” Flood, who died in 2018.

Born in Chelsea, MA, June 9, 1945, the daughter of the late William J. and the late Joan (Dolan) McCluskey.  She attended Matignon High School (class of 1962), Newton College of the Sacred Heart (class of 1966), and later completed a Master’s degree in psychology at Cambridge College.

Prior to her retirement, Judy worked as a Guidance Counselor in the Lowell Public School System and was the Founder and Past President of the Spindle City Garden Club of Lowell.

Devoted to her family and her faith, she was a longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell and the Monastery of St. Clare in Andover.

Judy is survived by four children: James W. Flood III and his wife Alanna of Lowell, MA, Catherine J. Flood and her husband Christopher Huse of New Hampshire, William P. Flood of Lowell, MA, and Thomas F. Flood of Boston, MA; two grandchildren Patrick and Ainsley Flood of Lowell, MA; four siblings Richard McCluskey and his wife Wendy of Cambridge, MA, Maryliz McCluskey of Denver, CO, James McCluskey and his wife Christine of Holden, MA,  and Joanne McCluskey of CA; She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass on Thursday March 16, 2023, at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Catherine E. “Kay” (Hannigan) Bergeron

Beloved mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister.

Catherine E. “Kay” (Hannigan) Bergeron, 93, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday March 3, 2023.

She was the loving wife of the late Joseph E. Bergeron, who died on April 9, 2018.

Born on October 7, 1929, in Leominster, MA, the daughter of the late Carl A. and the late Ruth G. (MacMillan) Hannigan, she attended Leominster Schools and graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1946.

Prior to her retirement at 83, Kay was a school bus driver for A.J. Gagnon Transportation.

Among her many interests, Kay enjoyed traveling, bowling, puzzles, trips to the casino, Spinner’s baseball games and watching the Boston Red Sox.

However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kay leaves behind her children James Bergeron and his wife Jeanne, Thomas Bergeron and his wife Jeannine, Catherine Gendron, Gary Bergeron and his wife Juliette, Edward Bergeron and Steven Bergeron as well as her step son Joseph Bergeron Jr. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren C. Rosie, Gillian, Stephen Jon Ramos, Sabrina Richer, Scott, Sara, Danielle McFadden, Brian, Timothy, Nichole Collins, Jessica Goguen, Brittany Martel, Katie, Evan, Richard and Celeste; as well as 19 great-children 1 great-great grandchild. She was also the foster parent to Lisa Marie Hannigan Bartlett and Colleen Hannigan Giroux and sister to James Hannigan.

She was predeceased by her son Richard Bergeron, daughter Terri Anne Bergeron, and step-daughter Patricia Richer and son-in-law David Richer.

Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL on Wednesday afternoon March 8, 2023, from 4 to 8 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning, March 9, 2023, at ST. MICHAEL CHURCH in LOWELL at 10 o’clock followed by her burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
