Vincent J. Parent
Beloved brother, uncle, and grand-uncle;
Vincent J. Parent, 78, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday August 25, 2023, at Regal Care at Lowell, in Lowell, MA.
Born in Lowell, MA, on August 11, 1945, the son of the late J. Herman and the late Mary F. (Wrenn) Parent, he attended St. Patrick Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Academy in the Class of 1963. Vincent went on to graduate from Merrimack College in the Class of 1967.
Vincent proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, Vincent worked for the City of Lowell School Department as a Paraprofessional with special needs students. He finished his career at Lowell High School.
Among his many interests, Vincent was an avid reader, photographer, and humanitarian; donating to every charity he was able to. He always had a camera in his hand, and could be seen showing his pictures at various art exhibits around Lowell.
Vincent is survived by two brothers: David F. Parent and his wife Joyce of Jensen Beach, FL and Joseph H. Parent and his wife Beverly of Lowell, MA; two sisters Mary B. Parent of Lexington, MA, and Sister Cathy Parent CDP of San Antonio, TX; one niece and four nephews Julie Parent, David Parent, Joseph Parent, Timothy Parent, and Michael Parent; he is also survived by a grand-niece and three grand-nephews.

Peter M. Bauer, Jr.
Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Great-Great-Grandfather and Uncle
Peter M. Bauer, Jr, 92, of Dracut, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday August 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Germaine (Hall) Bauer, who predeceased him in
September of 2012.
Born in Lowell, MA, May 2, 1931, the son of the late Peter M. Sr, and the late Blanche (Pelletier) Bauer, he attended Lowell schools and Lowell High School.
Peter went on to proudly serve his country as a combat veteran during the Korean War. He was in the first Cavalry Division and 8th Combat Engineers of the U.S. Army.
During his professional career, Peter owned and operated Bauer and Son Caulking Company in Dracut for over 45 years.
Among his many interests, Peter enjoyed playing golf, traveling to Mohegan Sun, watching baseball and football, and was an avid Patriots and RedSox fan.
He is survived by two daughters: Diane M. Shaughnessey of Dracut, MA and Donna L. Nicholaou and her husband James Dunn of Salem, New Hampshire, a son Peter M. Bauer III, and his wife Doris of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father-in-law of the late Dennis Shaughnessey and the late Daniel Nicholaou, grandfather of the late Lee Tamir and great grandfather of the late Brianna Tamir. He was also the brother of the late Francis Bauer, Joseph Bauer, and Rita Maslanka.

Catherine L. (Ford) MacLaughlan, R.N.
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin;
Catherine L. (Ford) MacLaughlan, R.N., 81 years old, of Lowell and Scituate, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday August 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late John J. MacLaughlan who died in 2017.
Born in Boston, MA, August 6, 1942, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Louise (Johnson) Ford, she was a graduate of St. Mary of the Assumption High School in Brookline and then attended and graduated from the Catherine Labouré School of Nursing in 1963.
Prior to her retirement, Catherine worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA, and the former St. John’s Hospital in Lowell, MA (nka Lowell General Saints Campus).
Among her many interests, Catherine was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Cedar Point Association of Scituate, Ma. However, her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and summering in Scituate, MA, since the 1940’s.
She is survived by five children: John J. MacLaughlan, III, of West Roxbury, MA, Ellen L. Slattery and her husband David of Lowell, MA, Thomas F. MacLaughlan and his wife Kristin of Brookline, MA, Daniel J. MacLaughlan and his wife Kristina of Burlington, MA, Beth A. Giliberti and her husband Frank of Lowell, MA; four grandsons Cameron John, Jack Frederick, Jason Daniel, and Thomas Patrick MacLaughlan; four granddaughters Catherine Louise, Emma Rose, Abigail Elizabeth Giliberti, and Caroline Louise MacLaughlan; two sisters Margaret Billy of San Diego, California, and Josephine Roman of Needham, MA; four brothers-in-law Kevin D. MacLaughlan and his wife Donna, James M. MacLaughlan, David W. MacLaughlan and T. Joseph Shanley; a sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann Shanley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the Hemotology and Oncology department at Tufts Medical Center for their compassionate care especially Dr. Wu, Dr Jeyapalan, and Madeline Couch NP.

The Reverend Dr. Robert J. Gallagher
The Reverend Doctor Robert J. Gallagher passed peacefully on Thursday July 6, 2023, at the age of 82.
Bob, the eldest of eight children, was born in Lowell, MA to the late Joseph A. Gallagher, and the late Margaret “Lil” (Dery) Gallagher.
A 1954 graduate of Pawtucket School and a 1958 graduate of Keith Academy in Lowell, MA, “Rev. Dr. Bob” spent two years as an Augustinian monk and three years as a Maryknoll seminarian. After many years of religious discernment, Bob found his niche as a Jesuit-trained Episcopal Priest.
Father Bob served several years as teacher, tutor, school administrator, parish priest and prison chaplain in Michigan, Maine and Massachusetts in both Episcopalian and Lutheran ELCA parishes.
He was ordained a Deacon in 1982 by Episcopal Bishop Henry Mayson of Detroit, MI and Priest in 1983 by Episcopal Bishop Coleman McGehee of Detroit, MI.
Father Bob held a 1986 Doctor of Ministry Degree in Spiritual Care and Counseling from the Institute for Advanced Pastoral Studies (Detroit, MI), as well as a 1998 Juris Doctor from Massachusetts School of Law in Andover. He also held a Master’s Degree in Divinity (Weston Jesuit School of Theology), U.S. History (Salem State) and Education (Salem State). As a transfer student from Maryknoll Seminary College, Fr. Gallagher received his A.B. in Humanities from Merrimack College in 1962.
Bob was a K-12 state-certified administrator and teacher of math, Latin, English, and social studies.
Bob worked at the Maine Correctional Center, Riverview Psychiatric Hospital for Children/Long Lane School in Middletown, CT, and Elliot Hospital Oncology Unit in Manchester, NH. His field education included Samaritans Crisis Suicide Hotline where he found himself strongly supportive of the gay community.
More recently, Father Bob served as Clerk on the Salisbury, MA Board of Health for three years, as Secretary for the Salisbury Democratic Town Committee and as Hospice Chaplain at Brookhaven in Hampton, NH. In the late 1990’s, he also served as Assistant Pastor of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hudson, MA. Later, Bob was a parishioner and friend to many at Trinity Episcopal Parish (Hampton, NH). He was also a leader and participant in its Clergy Bible Study group.
Father Bob was loved by many and is remembered for his kindness, ecumenicism, generosity, outgoing personality, wonderful sense of humor, “gift of gab,” and love of music.
Bob is survived by sister Pat Sem and husband Chuck of Hampstead, NH; brother Joe Gallagher of San Diego, CA; brother Tom Gallagher of New York, NY; sister Kathy Roosa and husband Alan Roy of York, ME; brother Paul Gallagher of Dayton, OH; sister Ruth Ann Murray of Maynard, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Eileen Crowley, her husband Robert Crowley and his brother-in-law Al Murray.
His Memorial Funeral Services will be held Friday morning, August 25, 2023, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 High Street, Hampton, NH at 10:00 A.M.
